The introduction of second level domain names (
.com.my) is a result of the joint consultative process done by MYNIC and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission with the public.
Priority Entry period (From 9am, 1st Nov 2007 till 5pm, 31st Dec 2007)
ONLY existing third level .my domain name registrants will qualify to register the equivalent second level domain name subject to specified terms and conditions.
After Priority Entry period (Starts from 1st Jan 2008)
Everyone can register any second level domain name subject to specified terms and conditions.
My name is Sammy and I like to register sam.my, is this possible?
In cases where there are multiple applications for the same second level domain name, priority will be given to the registrant with the earliest registered third level domain name. You can register sam.com.my before 5pm, 26th October 2007 if you would like to secure sam.my.
Domain abc.com.my is registered under my company name and I don’t want to miss the Priority Entry period.
Let us know your domain name and we can remind you and register the .my name for you. Meanwhile, we can help you to check your Registrant information and make sure it is under your name now.
How much is to register a .my domain name?
Around RM120 for .my domain name.

Domain name registration is not a difficult process. But I have seen that for new comers it is always some what tricky. The way you have described the procedure and I must say the science of domain name registration is very admirable. I really appreciate. Thanks for very nice post. I’m sure lots of newbies and even others will find this very informative and helpful.
I like to using co.cc and .tk domain because it free.
xxx.co.cc is not a domain name. They are sub-domain name. The owner of co.cc domain name package it as though it is providing free domain name. This can be misleading.
