Why You Should Use The Contact Us Form
    May 28th, 2008 | Posted by Pin

    FAQs

Although we’ve launched our spanking new “Contact Us” form (the striking yellow box on the top right corner), most of our customers still prefer to email us directly.

Okie, we’re going to explain why you should start using the “Contact Us” form.

We respect your time. Hence, immediately in the new form, we listed down all the frequently asked questions so that you might just find your answers instantly.

    Enquiry Form

However, if you did not manage to find your answer from within the FAQs, you can click “No”. This will direct you to an email-looking section where you can send us your enquiry.

Here’s the difference that sets us apart from all other automated forms out there- your enquiry will be read by a real staff and is attended to immediately.

Yes, a human will be attending to you immediately. No need worry about whether your email is received or not. The enquiry will be handled by the respective personnel and any subsequent follow-ups will be communicated via emails.

24 hours 7 days a week, we are prepared to answer you, no delay! This is something we cannot assure you if you continue to send us your enquiry via email. The person you emailed might just be on a 1-week vacation.

So, let us help you, start using our One-Click Contact Us Form!

    Setting Up Email Software
    May 14th, 2008 | Posted by Pin

All email accounts we host, regardless of the domain name, will use the following server settings.

    Server Type Server Name Port
    POP3 pop.emailsrvr.com 110
    SMTP smtp.emailsrvr.com 587
    IMAP imap.emailsrvr.com 143
    POP3 with SSL secure.emailsrvr.com 995
    IMAP with SSL secure.emailsrvr.com 993
    SMTP with SSL secure.emailsrvr.com 465

Outgoing servers require SMTP authentication. Microsoft Outlook users will need to manually enable this feature.

When entering your User Name, please enter your entire email address (e.g., myname@mydomain.com). Also, please use all owercase letters, as our email hosting system is case sensitive.

Updating Your Website at Lower Cost
    April 15th, 2008 | Posted by Pin

Web design companies used to be the one who maintain the website for their customers. Businesses think the same way too!

“Who says the person who design the website do the best maintenance job?”

    Project manager & development team
Change requests should be handled by someone not from the development team. This is normally done by a project manager, speaking to customers on cost estimation and briefing the team of what’s to be done.

    Turn-around time
A dedicated team should be able to get back to customers’ change request promptly. Usually, cost of web maintenance goes by hourly basis. This includes handling and reviewing time as well. To eliminate communication problems, an online form with capability of accepting change requests with attachments and forwarding to the right person is important!

    Cost of maintenance
Most customers prefer on request basis. They will be charged only when there are changes done. An average of RM80/hour ensures quality of work done including better handling and reviewing by the project manager.

Let us manage your web maintenance (although we may not be the one who design your website)

    Data Centre Network Connectivity Issue
    March 17th, 2008 | Posted by Pin

We would like to apologise for the Data Centre periodical network connectivity issues encountered between 1st to 12th March 2008.

This has resulted in intermittent packet loss and slow access to servers and services within certain segments in our network. The cause of the intermittent connectivity was isolated to a faulty switch servicing the particular network segment. The faulty switch has been replaced, and configured accordingly. Monitoring of the network shows that the issue has stabilized upon the replacement of the affected switch.

We will be further monitoring the network to ensure that this issue doesn’t reoccur. The service was back to normal operations at 7.05pm on 12th March 2008.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by the incident above.

Problem Sending Out Email on Using Streamyx Broadband
    December 4th, 2007 | Posted by Pin

Many email hosting subscribers in Malaysia are having problems sending out emails from their email clients including Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express or Eudora. Well, this is happened after a harsh decision from Telekom Malaysia to block OUTBOUND Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) traffic or port 25 for all out going emails from dynamic IP addresses. Only Outbound SMTP traffic from smtp.streamyx.com and smtp.tm.net.my will be allowed.

This affects only users of Streamyx Broadband and other TM Internet Subscribers. This action was taken to fight SPAM in TM’s network to improve quality of connection.

TM has suggested a new SMTP server (smtp-proxy.tm.net.my) to be used as an alternative to the original SMTP you have configured in your Outlook or Outlook Express. Another set of problem arises from this alternative:

    1. What will happen if all the traffic (nationwide) routes to this single ‘open-delay’ smtp server? What is the dedundancy support? Will your emails be in queues???

    2. You can’t send out emails if you are out of Streamyx or TM networks when you are using smtp-proxy.tm.net.my

Although this is a common practice by ISPs in the old days, it seems to be less practical especially when most people are moving around using different connections, etc.

    May 25th, 2007 | Posted by Pin

It’s our great pleasure to announce a FREE upgrade of all current email hosting subscribers to 1GB storage space. The price remains and there’s nothing needed to be done. This is some little form of appreciation for the support all these while.

A brief update on the email server shows that for the past 12 months, the uptime has been 99.985%. The actual report on the Outgoing mail server and Incoming mail server reveals on the live statistics.

    Miss No Email!
    September 3rd, 2006 | Posted by Pin

If there is a reason why many of our friends and clients failed to reply an email, this must be one of the reason. The default settings in Outlook Express marks any message as read after displaying for more than 5 seconds. Turn it off now! This ensures that the subject will turn unbold only after you have responded to the message.
